In amongst all the verbal sparring, Chelsea have the small matter of an FA Cup fifth round clash away to Manchester City to prepare for on Saturday. A calf injury to Gary Cahill means a defensive reshuffle is required by Jose Mourinho. Cahill requires a scan to ascertain the severity of the injury and has joined John Terry (muscular strain) in the treatment room. Right-back Branislav Ivanovic is likely to be deployed at centre back, Cesar Azpilicueta at right-back and Ashley Cole will come into the side at left-back.

  • 14:16

Jose Mourinho has launched a scathing attack on Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger after the Gunners boss suggested that the Chelsea manager was writing off the Blues’ Premier League title chances due to a fear of failure.
He is a specialist in failure. I'm not. If supposedly he is right and I'm afraid to fail, it's because I haven't failed many times. Maybe he's right. Maybe I'm not used to failing. The reality is he is a specialist. Eight years without a piece of silverware, that's failure. If I do that at Chelsea, eight years, I leave London and I don't come back.

The Liverpool Echo are reporting that Everton are set to offer a new deal to their longest-serving player Tony Hibbert.
At the moment it's been a frustrating season for Tony because of his injury problems which have stopped him competing for his place. That doesn't change Tony's position here though.

On loan Queens Park Rangers striker Will Keane is eager to further his experience at Loftus Road. Will we see him on Sunday as QPR take on Reading live on Sky Sports 1HD from 3:30pm?
If I could play a dozen games and get goals, it would be good exposure and it's better than playing for the U21s back home.

St Mirren will be without Marc McAusland and Josh Magennis for their Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports 1HD from 12:30pm. McAusland is suspended for the visit of the Dons, while loan signing Magennis is unable to play against his parent club. However, the Buddies are boosted by the return of John McGinn and Gregg Wylde, who missed last week's Scottish Cup exit to Dundee United through suspension and being cup-tied respectively.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce could be boosted by the return of Sone Aluko for Monday's FA Cup visit to Brighton. Aluko has made two substitute appearances in the league since returning from an Achilles injury and is expected to start up front with Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic both cup-tied. Paul McShane is out for six months with an ankle injury, while goalkeeper Allan McGregor is available once more, having completed a three-game ban. The likes of George Boyd, Yannick Sagbo, Robert Koren, Abdoulaye Faye and Robbie Brady will all be hoping to return to the starting XI.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared the Premier League title is 'Chelsea's to lose'. Blues boss Jose Mourinho has repeatedly downplayed his side's chances of winning the league, despite being top of the table. However, the Gunners boss believes Mourinho's comments come from a fear of failure.
It is very open, only Chelsea can lose it now because they are in front and all the other teams can win it. I've always said many teams are in it and it will be very tight until the end.

  • 12:27

Coventry have strengthened their squad ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League One clash with Bradford by taking winger Michael Petrasso on loan from QPR. The 18-year-old Canadian has joined on an initial 28-day deal after impressing whilst on loan at Oldham earlier this season.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged side for four games in a row, with there no need to tinker with a winning formula for Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round clash with Arsenal. He may, however, decide to draft Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger back into his plans this weekend, with the defensive duo having returned to full training after shaking off knee and calf complaints respectively. Lucas Leiva (knee ligaments), Jose Enrique (knee) and Mamadou Sakho (hamstring) remain on the sidelines, but all three could be back in action by the end of the month.
