NHL: Anaheim Ducks beat Chicago Blackhawks in shootout

Goals from Nick Bonino and Kyle Palmieri in a shootout fired Anaheim to a 3-2 victory over defending Stanley Cup champions Chicago on Friday.
Jonathan Toews had netted for the Blackhawks in the first round of the shootout, but Bonino levelled before Jonas Hiller denied Patrick Sharp.
Palmieri's back-handed effort beat Antti Raanta and Hiller pulled off another save from Patrick Kane as the Blackhawks slumped to their third consecutive defeat.
Hiller made 23 saves in regulation, while Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf were both on target for the Ducks.
In other NHL action, Elias Lindholm scored one goal and posted two assists to guide Carolina to a 5-3 victory over San Jose.
Jordan Staal, Eric Staal, Riley Nash and Jay Harrison also scored for the Hurricanes, while Cam Ward returned in goal after two games out to make 22 saves.
Justin Braun, Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Tommy Wingels all found the net for the Sharks, and Joe Thornton managed a point for the eighth straight game with an assist in the opening period.
Goaltender Alex Stalock made 30 saves, but it was not enough to prevent the Hurricanes recording a third win in a row, while San Jose have now lost consecutive games in regulation for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Johan Franzen and Tomas Tatar both struck in the final period to lift Detroit to a 3-1 win over New Jersey.
Joakim Andersson also netted in the Red Wings' fifth victory in six games, while the Devils have lost three in a row despite 18 saves from Cory Schneider.
New Jersey managed only 11 shots on target, matching the club record for the fewest shots in a home game.
