When Evolution and The Shield agreed to a contract signing for their Payback bout, did anyone expect a mere business lunch?
The Shield took centre stage and, before the ink had dried on the official documents, demanded Evolution join them in the ring.Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton obliged - complete with a sledgehammer.
Evolution mauled their Payback opponents with Triple H's weapon of choice acting as the difference maker. Raw concluded with Evolution slamming Roman Reigns through the announce table.
It had been a dominant night for Triple H. He kicked off the show with wife Stephanie McMahon by firing general manager Brad Maddox in a particularly brutal way - first Kane was asked to deliver a beating and Maddox was handed his marching orders as he lay prone.
Stephanie also addressed WWE Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan with a chilling ultimatum. Refusing to strip him of the belt, Stephanie threatened that he gives it up or his wife Brie Bella will be fired.
On trial
The Wyatts, getting weirder by the week, asked Jerry 'The King' Lawler to join them in the ring to hold a mock trial with the commentator charged with unfair bias.Lawler's partner JBL was attacked for sticking up for him, before John Cena and The Usos hit the ring. This rivalry is not over.
Elsewhere, Batista and Randy Orton mauled Goldust and Cody Rhodes.
Cesaro was aided in victory over Rob Van Dam by the interfering Bad News Barrett although Sheamus later booted Cesaro in the face. Sheamus later defeated Alberto Del Rio.
Bo Dallas beat Sin Cara, Adam Rose beat Damien Sandow and Rusev was victorious over Zack Ryder as the action continued.
In Divas battles, Eva Marie defeated Summer Rae and Emma took out Alicia Fox. El Torito also beat Drew McIntyre.
