NHL: The Boston Bruins register ninth successive victory

The Boston Bruins moved five points clear at the top of the NHL Eastern Conference with their ninth successive win, a 4-1 rout of the Minnesota Wild.

Jarome Iginla book-ended the scoring, with Loui Eriksson and Reilly Smith also on target as Tuukka Rask made 33 saves and was beaten only when Jason Pominville's stick broke hitting a slapshot which deceived the Finn.
The Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 to join the Montreal Canadiens on 81 points, 16 behind Boston and 11 behind the second-placed Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ondrej Palat and Steven Stamkos each had a goal and an assist as Tampa took a 3-0 lead. Valtteri Filppula and Tom Pyatt also scored while Vancouver's Alexandre Burrows twice cut the lead to two and then set up Jannik Hansen's goal.
In the Western Conference, the St Louis Blues lead the way by four points after a 3-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets took them into three figures with 101.
David Backes scored twice after Brenden Morrow's opener was cancelled out by Eric O'Dell.
In the night's other game, the Phoenix Coyotes edged out the Los Angeles Kings in a 4-3 thriller.
The Coyotes led a 2-0 lead slip - goals from Rob Klinkhammer and Mikkel Boedker cancelled out by Tanner Pearson, Alec Martinez and Marian Gaborik - but Keith Yandle and Jeff Halpern struck in the third period as the game swung back the other way.
