Second-placed Braehead Clan needed a penalty
shoot-out to beat fellow Scots the Edinburgh Capitals in Sunday's Elite
League ice hockey.
The Clan fell behind to Curtis Leinweber's
double in the second period but Ed McGrane made it 3-3 and Matt Towe and
Joe Cullen settled the shoot-out in their favour, Leinweber having

Hull Stingrays upset Nottingham in a shoot-out following a 3-3 draw.
Jereme Tendler scored twice for the East Yorkshire surprise package and though he then missed in the shoot-out, fellow goalscorer Guillaume Doucet clinched the victory.
Defeat means the Panthers slip into fourth behind Sheffield and Braehead.
The Fife Flyers won Sunday's other all-Scottish clash 3-1 against the Dundee Stars with goals from Justin DaCosta, Bobby Chaumont and Ned Lukacevic.
