The Viper slithered his way to success at WWE TLC - and is now the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Randy
Orton defeated John Cena in a brutal Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match
in Texas on Sunday evening to unify sports entertainment's ultimate
prizes - but only after showing his devious side. The Apex Predator, having seized control of the all-star clash in Houston, handcuffed a stricken Cena to the ring ropes before hurling the key into the audience and then scaling the ladder towards the belts hovering above the squared circle.
The Cenation Leader somehow managed to slacken the ropes and proceeded to join Orton in ascending up the metal steps, but the Viper then yanked the string still attached to Cena, sending the man from Massachusetts crashing face first into a table.
Elsewhere, CM Punk benefitted from Roman Reigns' eye injury to overcome a numerical disadvantage and record victory over The Shield in a rip-roaring three-on-one handicap encounter.
Haunt
Reigns picked up his ailment early in the contest when Punk evaded his attempt at a spear at ringside and the black-clad rebel tumbled over the announce desk - and the Shield man's zealousness would come back to haunt him.The onetime NXT Superstars worked their way back in to their clash with the Second City Saint, but when a visually-impaired Reigns speared stablemate Dean Ambrose by accident, Punk capitalised and pinned the United States Champion.
Daniel Bryan was unable to replicate Punk's achievements, though, succumbing to the Wyatt Family when he was felled by a Sister Abigail from the eerie trio's leader Bray Wyatt, while Kofi Kingston clobbered The Miz in a No Disqualification Match.
Cody Rhodes and Goldust remain WWE Tag Team Champions following victory in an epic Fatal Four-Way elimination duel against The Real Americans, Curtis Axel and Ryback, and the duo they finally overcame, Big Show and Rey Mysterio.
Big E Langston and AJ Lee also entered and exited the Toyota Center with gold; the former beating Damien Sandow in an Intercontinental Title bout, and the latter besting Natalya in a dust-up for the Divas Championship.
Plus, Brodus Clay's bickering with Tensai resulted in his Tons of Funk partner and the Funkadactyls abandoning him, before he was pinned by ex-United States and WWE Tag Team Champion, R-Truth.
