Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade both scored 23
points as the Miami Heat defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 101-95 to notch
their sixth straight victory.
Bosh also had 11 rebounds in the
Heat's fifth consecutive victory against the Lakers in a Christmas Day
game, while LeBron James added 19 points and Ray Allen had 12.Miami shot 51 percent (41 for 80) from the field in their 19th successive win over Western Conference opposition.
Nick Young scored 20 points for the Lakers, who were tied four times in the fourth quarter before the Heat asserted their authority late on.
Los Angeles were without Kobe Bryant due to his fractured left knee which left him unable to extend his NBA-record Christmas Day appearances to 16.
Meanwhile, Klay Thompson blocked a shot by Chris Paul and then contested Jamal Crawford's three-pointer that fell short at the final buzzer as the Golden State Warriors held off the Los Angeles Clippers 105-103.
Paul's lay-in with 11.9 seconds left went around the rim and out, but Andre Iguodala then missed a pair of free throws with 9.3 seconds remaining which gave the Clippers the ball back with 8.3 seconds to go.
Stephen Curry overcame a slow start to score six of his 15 points over the final 3:01 as Golden State ended the Pacific Division-leading Clippers' season-best five-game winning streak.
Kevin Durant scored 29 points and Russell Westbrook had a triple-double by the middle of the third quarter as the Oklahoma Thunder saw off the New York Knicks 123-94.
The Knicks without Carmelo Anthony due to a sprained ankle, while the Thunder were notching their 10th win in 11 matches.
James Harden scored 28 points and Dwight Howard had 15 points and 20 rebounds to guide the Houston Rockets to a 111-98 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler were the men in form for the Chicago Bulls with 20 and 15 points respectively in a 95-78 rout of the Brooklyn Nets.
